Staying in Khao lak gives you realistically 4 golf courses to choose from, as Phuket is a little too far away to travel to in one-day.
The only disadvantage to some is that when arriving at Phuket Airport to travel to your resort in Khao Lak it takes 1 Hour 10 minutes.
